Exterior Waterproofing
Exterior waterproofing is a must for new construction and is a good solution when a basement is not accessible.
The way we do it is to excavate a narrow trench along the wall down to the bottom of the footing. Next we install a drain tile which is dug to a sump system inside the house. We then hang wall platton on the walls to insure that any water from saturated soil is routed to the drain tile. Without the wall platton, water would still seep into the walls before it got to the drain tile. The next step is to back fill the tile with ¾ inch washed rock to keep the tile clean and to filter the water. We then back fill the soil and pack it as we put it in. We make sure to leave a positive grade sloping away from the house.
We have great results with our exterior waterproofing system. It is a good solution in some situations.
